The Tokyo Broadcasting System DigiCon6 Awards is an annual competition held each fall, which seeks and recognizes talented creators through-out Asia (Japan, China, Hong Kong, India, Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan and Thailand). 5 entries are shortlisted from each country to compete for the top honours. The competition is in its 15th edition this year and has attracted a number of quality entries from all over Asia and Singapore as well.
You can actually watch some of the best animation entries from Singapore online now. Here is the link. This has been made possible by Viddsee (www.viddsee.com), an online video platform that showcases short films, animations and documentaries from Southeast Asia.
Thru the partnership with DigiCon6, Viddsee hopes to support local content with its sustained platform for local creators to showcase their works and for audience to easily discover quality local content.
Viddsee is showcasing the Top 19 finalist animations from Singapore. Made by professional animators as well as student animators, the stories range from an unlikely friendship between a frog and an ant, to a barefoot dancer performing to collect money for a pair of shoes, to a wandering cyborg searching the remains of a post-apocalyptic Earth.
The winners from the Open category, Student category, Viewers’ Choice and Judge’s Choice awards will be announced on 23rd October 2013 at the Awards Presentation.
