Off the Record with filmmaker Kent Chan and his installantion 'It's Only Talk'

This was filmmaker Kent Chan's 'It's Only Talk' contribution to the forum. It’s Only Talk is a performance-based installation which explores the role that philosophies and ideologies play, in informing our worldview and action, through the lens of cinema and vice versa. The project involveds 5 filmmakers, Kent Chan, Chris Yeo, Daniel Hui, Liao Jiekai and Nelson Yeo, each with differing perspectives, such as philosophy, politics, pedagogy and the personal. They engaged audiences in conversations regarding films and cinema.

In this video, a collaboration between SINdie and SGNewWave, a group of film enthusiasts from Ngee Ann Polytechnic's School of Film and Media Studies, the 5 filmmakers share their views on films and the topics that they feel close to

About SG NewWave

SGNewWave is the brainchild of a group of film enthusiasts from Ngee Ann Polytechnic’s School of Film and Media Studies, hoping to revolutionize the way Singaporeans view films and eventually create a culture of avid film-goers who seek out even the small films showing in obscure places around Singapore.

It is composed of students with different capabilities: journalism, public relations, marketing, web design and video productions; all of us working together towards our goal of spreading the love of cinema, and creating our own film movement.
